This past Thursday the kids and I went on a grand adventure! Destination: College Run Farm's Pumpkin Patch in
Surry, Virginia. To get there from where we are, we had to travel over land and seas! (Okay, well maybe cross a small river). We crossed the James River on the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry. This was quite an exciting adventure, as the kids had never actually been on any watercraft, except for a small canoe. The kids loved it! It was a beautiful fall day, and the air was crisp and cool! I'm glad we brought our jackets!
The view of the land from the Ferry was truly beautiful! Once we were in
Surry we travelled the whole 2 miles to get to the Pumpkin Patch. There we found some very interesting things like:
A Peanut Pumpkin- very strange!
A scarlet pumpkin
And some Pumpkin
Thieves!
Noleigh and Hiram loved being out in the pumpkin patch! They were looking very carefully for the most perfect pumpkins. Hiram was specifically looking for a "little, bumpy pumpkin." He searched high and low, but ended up with a small white pumpkin.
Noleigh was looking for the perfect orange small pumpkin. She settled on a greenish-orange one. Though we didn't find exactly with what we hoped, we still enjoyed the hunt! What a fun day!
