Fun in the Park

Ben, Eric, Noleigh, Hiram

This week my brother Ben has been visiting from Korea. Yesterday, we went to Sandy Bottom Nature Park for a walk with him and his friend Eric. We had a great time. The caterpillars were everywhere. I have never seen so many in my life. Noleigh kept capturing them and wanted to take one home for a pet of her very own. They have been having so much fun with their uncles that have come to visit. This upcoming week, my sister and her husband will be here, as well as my other brother Jared. We have been so blessed to have so much family come around to visit.

Hiram's Trike A Thon

On Friday, April 19, Hiram participated in a Trike-A-Thon for St. Judes through his preschool. It was a beautiful warm day and he did an excellent job. It was fun that he and one other boy were able to ride their two wheeler bike instead of a tricycle. He was able to raise $85 to donate. He was excited that he was able to raise some money for the children that are in the hospital. He took his job very seriously and did well over 70 laps around the small loop that was set up. He rode for the full 30 minutes he was required. I am very proud of him for his willingness to do this for other kids. He was really funny at first because he had his helmet on backwards. We caught that early and were able to fix it. Also, he was excited to have a celebrity there. That's right, Tow Mater was in attendance. It was all in all a wonderful day!

Hands

A few days ago, Debbie stopped by so the kids could play. Noleigh is enamoured with her five month old daughter, Kamea. This was a sweet moment.

Mike and Jenny Come to town

In the Galley

The Engine Room

The Captain's quarters

This weekend, Mike and Jenny came in for a visit. We had a lot of fun with them. They came in on Friday night and left Monday. While they were here, Dan took us on a tour of his tug. It was the first time the kids and I have been on it, so it was a lot of fun to see where he worked every day. We also enjoyed eating at a local Chinese restaurant, touringFort Monroe, and just hunging out and talking. It was just a great weekend with family. Noleigh and Hiram loved having their Aunt and Uncle in town. They enjoyed their time playing with them and all the time and attention they were given.
It has also been the kids spring break, but unfortunately it has been raining for the last week. Yesterday we decided to get creative and make our own version of Twister. This was the first time the kids had played. They had a blast, especially when Dan and I got on the floor to play.

Emma Smith

The founders of our church were amazing. I have fallen in love with the country CD Joseph: A Nashville Tribute. It is beautiful and you can feel the spirit so strong in the music. One of my favorite songs is about Emma Smith. This video captures that song so well.
